New York

Last weekend we went to New York.
On Sunday, we went to:
-Rockefeller center, and we had a walk around the fifth avenue (we saw for example the NBA store).

-We saw the NBA store at fifth avenue too.
-We went to a tour by bus around the city.
-We stopped at Central Park, and we saw, in the floor, a tribute for John Lennon, which is in the next picture.
-We saw the Empire State Building.
-We also saw the Zero Ground.
-We went to Chinatown.
-After this, we went to the Wellington Hotel, we changed our clothes, and later we went to The Broadway Theatre, where we saw legally blonde, an amazing musical. We really loved it.
-After the play finished, we had two free hours for go shopping around Time Square. We saw for example the mm's store.

On Monday, we woke up really early, and we went to visit places like:
-The Statue of Liberty, what was really interesting.

-Chinatown again.
-Brooklyn.

-Moma museum, where we say for example "Las señoritas de Avignon", from Pablo Picasso.
-We saw Harlem too (inside the bus).

I really had a nice remember of the trip, many things to tell to people, and I bought a lot of things there. Maybe the worst thing was the trip, too long.

Halloween

On Saturday we went to our Halloween party. I had a death costume without face. There were a lot of food, like cookies, pizza, sweets, soda... There was music, and we had fun. The costumes were very silly, and there were some that no were scary, but all was nice. Maybe it was a little bit boring because we thought we couldn't invite whoever we want, but I think it was a nice experience.
There was a billiard table, a place for dancing (the DJ was the host of Irene, he looked so bad, alone with his computer).
We have many photos and I think it will be an interesting thing to talk about.We wish see the real Halloween at the US, but we have to leave the country before Halloween, but it's interesting all the things they do for decorate the houses. In our house, there are many pumpkins (it's also amazing what they do with the pumpkins, they empty the inside of the pumpkin, and later they draw a face) and things about Halloween. We did that with this ones.

Fenway Park - The stadium of the Red Sox

The son of Mrs. Olano work at the Fenway Park, that is the stadium of the Boston Red Sox, the baseball team of here. It was really cold when we made the tour, but it was really interesting to see the stadium only for us. We went for all the seats and we saw the entire stadium. It was amazing.

We saw the store too, but it was really expensive, and I didn't have enough money to buy anything.

Television

It is an interesting thing for talk about it. Here, at the US, there are a lot of channels in all the houses. It's like a different world. We have to make a post in this blog about the television here, but I don't know how can I put. We didn't see anything at the TV at the moment, really. We are all the time very busy. We only saw a presidential debate between Obama and McCain. Our family is democrat, so they prefer that Obama will be the president. It was amazing to see how hey saw the debate in silence. It was a little boring for me, because I didn't understand many of the things.
We saw a little (like 5 minutes) of a baseball match too, but we didn't understand anything of this strange (for us) sport.
I don't know how to tell about the TV. Our family only see it for the baseball and the important things, like the debate.

Sports - Boston Celtics vs NY Knicks match

Yesterday was the big day. We went to the Boston Celtics match. It was a pre-season match, but we were very excited about it. Here you can see the ticket.

Before the beginning of the match, we went near the court to take some photos. You can see them (I'll show a lot of photos of this because for me, it's one of the most important things that we are going to do here, at Boston).

Later, we went upstairs to our seats, which were in a balcony. We could see the match very well, really. Now, I'll show you two photos of before the match.

At the half time, Manu and me went to the stores to see the prices of the Celtics T-Shirts. There weren't T-Shirts of Paul Pierce, the MVP, and they were too expensive. We'll try to buy one at the NBA store in NY. After this, we went downstairs and we found the place where the NY players were arriving to the court. We could see players like Eddy Curry or Tyson Chandler, the tallest, because of the hall was hide and we only saw their heads by a hole.

Later, we saw the end of the match. Celtics lost 104-97, but it's no important I think. The worst players of the Celtics played more than Garnett, Pierce and Allen (the three best). Here I'm going to put two photos of the end of the match.

Finally, we took a photo of us at the balcony. We didn't appear at the screen (only Val & Heather appeared in a moment), and we tried many things for that. It was an interesting experience I think.

Newport

Last Wednesday, we went to another city in Rhode Island, called Newport. We went into a school bus (the school buses are the worst), and the driver was really bad. We've lost many times before our arriving to Newport. It's a very famous city because of his big houses. We visited two of them, The Breakers (the biggest one) and Rosecliff.
Here is a photo of The Breakers mansion, property of the Vanderbuilts, a very rich family.

And here, you can see a photo of Rosecliff. It's smaller than The Breakers but it's wonderful too.

Finally, here we are two photos of us at the Rosecliff's back garden, from where we could see the beach. It was a wonderful and very interesting day.

King Richard's Faire & Sturbridge Village

Yesterday, we went to a medieval faire, in a town called Craver. It was interesting. There were, for example, places for throw axes and knives, and they sell weapons like swords. The food was really good, but like all the food here, it had a lot of grease. We are going to leave the US very fat. We saw a lot of things, but I only can put here a few photos. For example, we saw the Castilla y Leon flag in a castle, I think it was very interesting. We felt surprised, and we saw the flag of the Franco's time (spanish flag with the eagle). Really surprising.

Today, we had visited (with all the spanish people) a place called Sturbridge Village, which is from the Victorian Time. It was a little boring I think. It was really empty.

After this, we went to a restaurant called Papa Gino's for a spanish meeting and for have dinner. We talked in spanish with the american people.

Providence city (Rhode Island)

Last Saturday, we went to the most important city in the state of Rhode Island, called Providence.

We saw the Capitol and the Brown University.

We visited the city inside the car, and later, we went to the Mall, a really big Mall. I thinks that it's one of the biggest Malls.

Sports.- Ice Hockey match

Yesterday, we went with the Wards and John, a friend of the father of Steve, to an ice hockey match. It was in the Boston College, home of he Eagles of Boston, team of the NCAA (National College Athletic Asociation).

It was so funny, the ice hockey is a really violent sport, but it's easy to understand. We had a funny night at this ice hockey match. It's like a movie, or a videogame. At the US, the sports are a show.

Finally, the Eagles won 5-4 in a nice end of the match. After the match, we went to visit the college (one of the universities of Boston), which has many nice buildings. Here, you can see a photo of us with the symbol of the college, the Eagle.

After this, we went to a restaurant called Charley's. We had dinner like in Spain, at ten o'clock, more or less. It's really interesting that there was a Cheeseburguer Pizza. It's like the God of the fast food. I ate a Margherita Pizza, which was nice for me.

Trip to Boston

I'm not going to talk so much about the trip. It was really amazing. We went to the science museum, to the duck tour (the vehicle that goes to the water). You can see the photos. Many of them had taken from the duck.

Today it was our first day at high school. It was very boring, but it was curious. We made an interesting survey, and we ate a chicken hamburguer and french fries.

After school, we went to a practise of theatre with Stephen. I'm tired, I'll write more tomorrow.

I'm in the same house with a partner. We are with a boy called Steven. I will write in this blog many times.
The house is so big. They have two nice cars, one Nissan hybrid and one Dodge.
We have visited the Mall, a big shopping centre. We bought candy and a sweater, very cheap.
I'm so tired, I will try to write here tomorrow.
